Kim Min-jae shone despite the abuse controversy.

Munich used a 4-2-3-1 formation. Kane was at the front line, with Sane, Musiala, and Coman supporting the attack. Kimmich and Goretzka worked together in the third line, and the back four consisted of Davis, Minjae Kim, De Ligt, and Reimer. Ulreich wore the goalkeeper gloves.
Mainz responded with a 3-4-2-1 formation. Azork stepped up as a striker, and Lee Jae-seong and Gruda supported the attack in the second line. The midfield consisted of Cassi, Core, Bagerio, and Da Costa, while Van den Berg, Bell, and Fernandez appeared as the back three. The goal was guarded by Zentner.

Munich laughed early. In the 11th minute of the first half, Munich launched a counterattack. Sane grabbed the ball, advanced, and sent the ball to Coman on the right. Coman caught this and immediately shot to score the first goal. Mainz also immediately launched a counterattack. In the 13th minute of the first half, Lee Jae-seong lifted a high cross from the right side and fired a header. Ulreich threw his body to block it, but it hit the goal post and did not result in a score.

Munich scored an additional goal. In the 16th minute of the first half, a free kick attack opportunity was scored by Musiala, causing confusion at the goal. In the process, Kane finished the ball given away by Goretzka with a header, hitting the net. Mainz made up for one goal. In the 43rd minute of the first half, Kasi finished the pass given by Gruda with his powerful left foot and started the chase. The first half ended with Munich leading 2-1.

Munich widened the score gap further. In the 14th minute of the second half, Musiala succeeded in putting pressure on the front and sent a pass to the midfield. After Goretzka caught it, he immediately shot and hit the net. In the 18th minute of the second half, Mainz replaced Lee Jae-seong and added Barkok. Both teams continued to target each other's goal in the second half, but the game ended with Munich winning 3-1.

Kim Min-jae, who also started and played full-time that day, was key to the team's defense. Despite the controversy over overuse, Kim Min-jae traveled all over the field. Throughout the game he continued to harass the opposition defense between the defensive line and midfield. He showed that he was not pushed back at all in the physical fight, and in the 36th minute of the second half, Kim Min-jae blocked a cross from the left side and then hit Azork for a goal kick. After that scene, Kim Min-jae roared and hugged De Ligt.

Munich, who won that day, immediately begins preparations for the next game. Munich is scheduled to clash with Galatasaray in the third match of Group A of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) at the Neff Stadium in Turkye Istanbul at 1:45 a.m. on the 25th.
